In 2000, the US Surgeon General report* stated that oral health is essential to the general health and well-being of all Americans, and that oral health is integral to general health. This report provides important reminders that oral health means more than healthy teeth and that you cannot be healthy without oral health.

How can we treat the infection in our mouths?
We typically need to remove the infection or source of the infection. We can extract teeth, do gum therapy (“deep clean”), do fillings, root canals, and others to remove the infected area or source.
